Torrey Williams, a senior at Gulf Breeze High School, will celebrate two major milestones at the same time on Nov. 6 as he turns 18 and votes for the first time in the presidential election.
Williams was allowed to register to vote when he received his driver’s license during the summer because his birthday falls on Election Day. The right to vote is not something Williams takes lightly.
“Voting is important. You’ve got freedoms and people fought for those freedoms,” he said. “So the important thing is using them.”
