New Smokehouse open for business

The new East River Smokehouse location opened for business Monday.

A line of people formed outside before 11 a.m. Monday waiting for the new East River Smokehouse to open its doors. 

Owner James Dabney has been renovating the former Beach World building along the sound on Navarre Parkway for months and the restaurant is finally open for business. The first two people in line on Monday were Elizabeth Ryan of Biloxi, Miss., and her son Terry Ryan of Fort Walton Beach.
