Phil Babiak named Chamber Legend

The Navarre Beach Area Chamber of Commerce awarded Phil Babiak with the Legend Award for 2012 on Jan. 14 at the annual Awards and Installation Banquet.

Babiak, who has worked with Century 21 Island View Real Estate since 1982, was surprised by the award at the banquet.

“It was the best kept secret in Navarre,” said Babiak. “I had no idea.”

Selecting Babiak as a legend was a natural for Tom Vatter, 2011 chairman for the Chamber. 

“He definitely belongs as a legend in Navarre because he definitely is,” said Vatter. “All these years, and I was looking back (through past honorees) and when I saw that he wasn’t selected, I was shocked. There is no question that he is a legend.”
