A recent influx of military families relocating to the Navarre area has greatly improved the local housing market.
According to Navarre housing market statistics recently released by the Navarre Area Board of Realtors, August 2011 had the highest number sales in the past year with 89 homes sold with the average sale being $221,149 for single-family residents.
“With the climax of the annual military PCS period and the arrival of the last waive of families associated with the 7th SF re-location, the market over the last two months showed signs of improvement,” said Angela Campbell, executive director of NABOR.
She said market activity is still higher than what it was last year, but pending home sales did decline in September. In October 2010, 51 homes were sold in Navarre and the average sale was $209,020. However, September 2011 had 62 sales with the average sale being $228,814.
