Here’s looking at you John Guice

John Guice, 93, spoke slowly and deliberately, like an ebbing tide; partially because he was born and raised in Greenville, Ala., but more likely, it’s because he thinks before he speaks.

He grew up working in his father’s general merchandise store and learning to fix automobiles. When he graduated from Butler County High School and went to work for the Ford dealership in Greenville, “I was a self-trained teenage automobile mechanic,” he said.
