An Army chaplain’s sojourn

Rachel Coggins returning home from Kuwait.

Rachel Coggins’ sojourn began in Kentwood, La., where she was raised. She grew up in the church and grew up loving God.

“God put a fire in my belly as a girl. I read missionary stories and of missionaries going to exotic places,” said Coggins. “I knew as a little girl I wanted to do that.”

Coggins served as an Army Reserve Chaplain and is also the wife of an Air Force Chaplain. Her journeys have taken her to those exotic places she read about as a child; Turkey, Germany, Greece and many states, among other places.
