Be a Christmas angel for children

Several Navarre organizations have once again partnered with the FamiliesFirst Network to give the gift of Christmas to deserving foster children in the area.

The Angel Tree Program allows businesses and other organizations to have a Christmas tree in their office with special angel ornaments. The angel ornament represents a child who is in need of someone’s help to make Christmas Day a merry one. The goal of each organization is to make sure all the Angel ornaments on the tree are gone before Christmas. When you take an ornament from the tree, you are committing to shopping for that child’s Christmas gifts using the child’s personal information on the ornament.

Holley-Navarre Fire District is one organization that has participated in the Angel Tree Program for 10 years. Battalion Chief Howie Rounsaville said the tree at Station 45 in Navarre contains 53 angels that need Christmas gifts.
