Harris and Carol Sonnenberg are going on 57 years of marriage this year.

The divorce rate in America has hovered at 50 percent for several years.

 

So when the Rev. Steve Marko, of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, recognizes all couples married 50 years or more during Feb. 12 services, he will be recognizing a true feat by today standards. To him, these "couples that have truly remained committed."
