The Rev. Alan Cassady joined the church team as senior pastor at the beginning of July. He was formerly a pastor at the Woodbine United Methodist Church in Pace.
He said he is looking forward to helping the church live out its mission.
“Primarily I’m looking to help the church live out their mission which is to help people become fully devoted disciples of Christ and we hope to be able to reach out into new people groups and to help people grow in their relationship with God,” said Cassady.
He also said he wants to help maintain and expand all of the mission work the church does such as the We Care program that helps people with things like utility bills and medical needs and sponsoring the Good Neighbor House.
Cassady said he didn’t come to the church with a plan of action already in mind because he has noticed over his 26 years in the ministry that God usually already has a vision in place.
