Contract extension given to pier management

Santa Rosa County Commissioners plan to give The Pier, Inc., managers of the Navarre Beach Fishing Pier, a five-month contract extension to ensure a management transition doesn’t occur at the peak of tourism season.

County Administrator Hunter Walker presented a draft contract for pier management during a Jan. 22 commissioner meeting for the board’s consideration before the county puts the contract out to bid.
