County approves turtle center lease

Santa Rosa County Commissioners approved a five-year conditional lease today for the proposed Navarre Beach Sea Turtle Conservation Center that will enable the organization to go after project funding.

After being denied her request during an Oct. 22 meeting, Cathy Holmes, project director for the conservation center, approached commissioners again during today’s meeting with more information about the project. The board unanimousy authorized County Attorney Angie Jones to draft a five-year conditional lease on the former state park information center located in Navarre Beach Park.
