Tourism committee discusses budget allocations

Santa Rosa County Tourist Development Council south-end committee will recommend the TDC approve $60,000 for the future Navarre Beach Sea Turtle Conservation Center and $36,000 for the Beach Beautification Committee’s regular annual maintenance.

The south-end committee made the same recommendations to the council last month, but the items were tabled. TDC Executive Director Kate Wilkes said during an Oct. 10 meeting that the items were tabled because some board members wanted to ask commissioners if Navarre Beach Fishing Pier revenue could be used for those beach projects instead of TDC funds.
