Children had an opportunity to touch, smell and see different kinds of sea critters and wildlife during the Oct. 6 Coastal Encounters held at the Navarre Beach Marine Science Station and sound-side pavilions.
Touch tanks, face painting, sea creatures and other displays provided children with interactive ways to learn about the coastal environment that surrounds them.
“People learned about the importance of coastal resources and how special they are,” said Chris Verlinde, with Sea Grant Florida.
The event is part of Santa Rosa County Beaches to Woodlands Tour.
