Reward offered for turtle nest vandal

The Navarre Beach Leaseholders and Residents Association is offering a $300 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons who destroyed a Loggerhead turtle nest on the beach.

On June 2, Cathy Holmes discovered the destroyed turtle nest while on turtle patrol. The buried eggs were dug up and smashed near the No. 9 walkover steps.

The incident is still under investigation by Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission, and the NBLRA is offering a reward with the hope of bringing the perpetrator(s) to justice.
