Navarre residents spent the morning of June 21 - the Summer Solstice - picking up litter and other debris off Navarre Beach. The reason? It was part of the United Way of Santa Rosa County's Day of Action.
Day of Action is UWSRC's green volunteer day. The non-hazardous beach cleanup consisted of removing light debris and trash from the three-mile stretch of Navarre Beach from 8 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Coca-Cola, as well as Santa Rosa Clean Community System, helped facilitate the cleanup, which also organizes the International Coastal Cleanup, scheduled for Sept. 25, 2010.
