The board of directors overseeing the Navarre Beach Fire Department has no intention of merging with Midway or Holley-Navarre Fire Districts, according to Kevin Rudzki, board member and 21-year veteran of the beach fire department.

 

"We have absolutely nothing to gain by it, as a fire department or a board," Rudzki said.

Two weeks ago, the president of the union representing the Navarre Beach Fire Department firefighters - Shawn Hall - announced that their union would be rejoining efforts looking into consolidating with the two mainland fire departments.
