Marine sanctuary committee plans for 2010

The Underwater Marine Sanctuary Committee recently met and the first item on the agenda was replacing Mark Griffith as the committee chairman.

Griffith left the area on a temporary assignment in Atlanta. Although he still works with the committee, he urged the group to appoint new leadership.

At the last committee meeting in December 2009, Mandy Evers and Nancy Sandler agreed to act as co-chairmen.

The committee, including Griffith, has continued to work on issues which affect the sanctuary.
