Chipley –North and southbound traffic on State Road 87 between Five Forks Road and the Eglin Air Force Base boundary in Santa Rosa County will shift to the new southbound roadway the week of Feb. 18, 2013 to allow bridge crews to continue working on the bridge deck over Dean Creek. Drivers are reminded to pay attention to the speed limit when traveling through the construction area and to use caution when driving in work zones. Construction activities are weather dependent and may be delayed or re-scheduled in the event of inclement weather.

Local ceramic artist Jason Stokes will travel to Japan in April to work and study the country’s rich heritage of traditional wood-fired pottery. Stokes, 34, is one of three potters from the Gulf Coast Kiln Walk Society that have been invited to tour the country to spend time and work with Japanese artists who use traditional methods to create ceramics.

U.S. Highway 98 westbound is slow due to a rollover accident which occured at approximately 1:30 p.m. at Navarre Parkway and Estate Circle. It is being reported as a one-vehicle accident and the driver was transported to a local hospital.
