Panhandle Butterfly House to open

The Panhandle Butterfly House at Navarre Park on U.S. Highway 98 will be open to the public from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. April 19. The grounds have been impeccably groomed, the docents have been trained, and several improvements have been made to the vivarium. All that is needed are the future inhabitants. The first batch of butterflies will be released in the vivarium today, Thursday April 18.

Hundreds of pets receive blessing

An estimated 650 pets, ranging from Great Danes to guinea pigs, were honored Sunday, April 7, in the annual Blessing of the Pets ceremony at Gulf Breeze United Methodist Church.

More than 350 cyclists registered for the 5th annual Tour de Cure cycling event held April 6. Cyclists took part in one of three rides: a 62-mile; a 42-mile; or a 22-mile ride.
