Santa Rosa County is a homeschool-friendly vacation destination.
Meridith South, president of MDi Media Group’s media division, presented a county-based homeschool curriculum for Kindergarten through fifth-grade aged students to the Tourist Development Council’s South End Committee during its meeting April 10.
“This idea has been a year or so in the making,” South said in a subsequent interview. “Part of our job is to look for a new niche market and (how we can) bring people into the county.”
The curriculum targets the homeschool market by helping parents incorporate learning with vacation time.
