TDC arena aid may not be needed

Santa Rosa County Tourist Development Council debated during a Jan. 16 meeting whether to contribute $200,000 to the Agriplex project in East Milton, but it may be a moot point if project organizers have enough money to cover the entire cost.

In December, the TDC approved making the $200,000 contribution to the $1.2 million covered arena project, which is phase one of the Agriplex project. District 2 Commissioner Bob Cole saved $1 million from his district recreation funds over a 10-year period and asked the TDC to make up the shortfall.
