Indonesian weapons display at library

William Lake is exhibiting a collection of weapons from Indonesia that he and his father, Eric Lake, collected during their travels as Merchant Marines.

A Navarre man and the Navarre Library are partnering to share pieces of history from long ago distant travels.

William Lake is exhibiting a collection of weapons from Indonesia that he and his father, Eric Lake, collected during their travels as Merchant Marines. William said his dad was always collecting various things from the different places he visited.

“When we were growing up our house was like the local Museum, because of all the different stuff my dad was bringing back,” William said.

The exhibit will be on display until the end of February and people are invited to come in and browse the collection anytime between 10 a.m.-6 p.m. as long as the room is not booked for another event, Cook said.
