Midway awarded SAFER grant

The Midway Fire District will soon be four firefighters stronger after receiving a grant from the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

The Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response Grants (SAFER) for $287,224 will fund the salary and benefits for four firefighters for two years. Midway will only be financially responsible for training, gear and physical testing for the added firefighters.
