Santa Rosa County did not participate in an August 2012 ethics survey put out by LeRoy Collins Institute at Florida State University and Integrity Florida.
Dan Krassner, Florida Integrity executive director, said that the information collected in the survey is good for establishing a bench mark for what counties are doing to address local ethics.
“The state (ethics) code applies,” said Krassner, “but there is nothing stopping counties to go further. A lot of communities have found gaps in the state code that hasn’t been tweaked in 30 years.”
