The city of Gulf Breeze has made several concessions to ease residents’ concerns about the city’s plan to purchase Tiger Point Golf Club, but residents aren’t quite ready to give the city their full support.
Don Richards, president of the United Peninsula Homeowners Association and A.J. Sutton, president of the Santa Rosa Shores Homeowners Association, are still in negotiations with city officials to make the project beneficial for everyone involved.
City Manager Edwin “Buz” Eddy went before the Santa Rosa County Zoning Board on Nov. 8 to request a condition use zoning variance that would allow the city to expand its existing wastewater treatment plant on the Tiger Point property. The zoning board recommended approval, but the board of county commissioners will make a final ruling at its Dec. 13 meeting.
