To Ken and Kathy Colin, Nov. 16, 2011 seems like it was yesterday.
That was the day an Army Chaplin appeared in the Colin’s driveway early in the morning. He was there to inform them that their son, Pfc. Matthew Colin, had been killed by a roadside bomb half a world away in Kandahar, Afghanistan.
One year later, the Colins are still trying to deal with the aftermath of that day.
“It never gets any easier,” Ken said. “You just try to stay busy.”
