Public meeting planned for bridge study

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will hold a public information meeting regarding the Pensacola Bay Bridge Project Development and Environment (PD&E) Study in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties. 

The meeting will be held from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Oct. 18 at the Pensacola Civic Center, 201 East Gregory Street, 2nd Floor, Rooms C1, C2 and C3, Pensacola.

The study involves the replacement of the Pensacola Bay Bridge located at State Road 30 (U.S. 98) from 17th Avenue in Pensacola to Bay Bridge Drive in Gulf Breeze.  Various alternatives and alignments have been studied which address both safety and capacity improvements that will tie into the existing facilities. After the meeting the alternatives will be further evaluated and the reports are updated to reflect changes that may result from public input that is received.
