The sheriff’s seat is one of the few contested races in the Santa Rosa County 2012 General Election, and accusations are heating up as Election Day draws closer.
Chris Roper, an independent candidate running against Republican incumbent Sheriff Wendell Hall, has made a sheriff’s office internal investigation a talking point during his campaign. Roper is publicizing an internal investigation that concluded in February 2011 after 15 sheriff’s office employees were caught viewing nude/pornographic material on agency computers while on duty.
