Former Navarre High School head football coach Chad Lashley's name has surfaced in the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s investigation into Kevin Michael "Mickey" O'Quinn's alleged misconduct with students.
According to Scott Haines, public information officer for the sheriff’s office, Lashley is not currently under investigation, but is listed as "other" in one of two investigations into O'Quinn because of an undisclosed implication by an alleged victim. The term "other" in a police report refers to the subject as uncategorized - neither a victim, suspect or witness.
Lashley resigned from NHS on Dec. 6 to become the assistant football coach at Fort Walton Beach High School. But he resigned from Fort Walton Feb. 6 to take a job with SpeedTracs, a company that provides speed and agility sports equipment to school systems.
The Santa Rosa County School District released documents from its own internal investigation into O'Quinn's behavior last week. The former baseball coach resigned from his position Jan. 30 before the school district's investigation could be completed.
Documents obtained from the school district by the Navarre Press through the Freedom of Information Act detail allegations by three students, two of whom are listed as victims, and a third is listed as a witness.
