Etta Lawlor, a candidate for the district 4 Santa Rosa County Commission seat, withdrew her name from consideration June 28.
"I withdrew because I consider myself a long-shot to win and feel I am trailing behind in comparison to the other candidates," said Lawlor via email. "To be fair to all voters this will open the August election to a Universal Primary for Commissioner District 4 in which all can vote regardless of party registration."
Lawlor was registered as "No Party Affiliate." The other four candidates - Ruth Dupont Esser, incumbent Gordon Goodin, Jim Melvin, and Mark Goode - are all Republicans.
Due to Lawlor's withdrawl, and with no other political party represented, a candidate will be decided on following the August primary.
