The Navarre Press defended its title of best newspaper in the state for its category, winning a total of 13 awards and finishing in a first-place tie with the Sarasota Business Journal for top honors in Division C of the Florida Press Association’s Better Weekley Newspaper contest. This is the second straight year the Navarre Press has earned the distinction of best newspaper.
Competing with more than 1,600 entries from 64 newspapers, the Navarre Press won first place awards for Informational Graphic, Sports Page, Sports Column, Feature Photo, Special Issue or Supplement, Investigative Journalism, First Amendment Story and Editorial Page.
The Navarre Press also won second place awards for Overall Graphic Design and Profile Story, and third place awards in the Community History, Outdoor and Recreation and Education categories.
