Santa Rosa County residents and motorists who frequently pass through the county have a little more time before the lane closures begin for the Hwy 98 resurfacing project. Though work is already underway, crews are currently working on roadside drainage and underground utilities first. The lane closures will not start until late August or early September, according to the Florida Department of Trabsportation. The FDOT reports that work will begin at the Okaloosa-Santa Rosa County line, then crews will work their way westward to the Gulf Breeze Zoo entrance. The project is scheduled to stretch into 2015.
