The topic of exactly how safe our children are when they are riding the buses to school became heated at last week’s Santa Rosa School Board meeting. Voices raised, tempers flared and accusations were made. And that was prior to the voting.
In spite of safety allegations made by school bus drivers employed with Durham School Services, the school board voted unanimously April 25 to renew contracts with its current transportation and custodial service providers for five year terms. Starting on July 1, Durham will receive $7,930,000 per year at a rate adjusted annually.
