Three times a survivor.
By the time Navarre resident Brenda Whidden was 20 years old, she was diagnosed with cervical cancer; by 30 she had ovarian cancer; and by 40 she had a bilateral mastectomy after four diagnoses of breast cancer.
Whidden is by all definition a cancer survivor. She was declared cancer-free in January for the first time in more than 20 years.
That’s why Whidden will participate in tomorrow’s Relay for Life – to give others a chance at a cancer-free outcome.
