The Rotary Clubs of Northwest Florida came together Feb. 23 to prepare meals for hungry families in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties.
Thirteen Rotary Clubs from Century to Navarre gathered at the Manna Food Bank location in Pensacola to prepare 103,788 meals for the five food pantries operated by Manna.
“For some families this box will be the first time they are coming to get help,” said Buz Eddy, a volunteer from the Rotary Club of Gulf Breeze and the Gulf Breeze city manager. “The hunger issue is larger than people are aware of. Hopefully, this will bring attention to a growing problem that we, as a community, can assist with: feeding the hungry.”
