Allen, 29, of Fort Walton Beach was driving west on U.S. Highway 98 when he was cut off causing his van to flip several times before rolling to a stop in the woods.
Allen, who didn't want to give his last name, said that a man turning onto U.S. 98 pulled out in front of him.
“I tried to change lanes,” he said.
When he swerved, he said the van caught the shoulder of the road causing him to roll several times before coming to a stop in the woods.
Lateef, a passenger in the van, also said that another driver had pulled out in front of them. The men were on their way to Pensacola to complete a carpet laying project.
Allen said that the other driver did not stop.
Lateef and Allen sustained minor injuries, but were able to walk away from the accident.
“Seatbelts save lives,” said Lt. Shawn Laws with the Holley Navarre Fire District.
Updates will be provided when more information becomes available.
