Joseph Pool of Pace is running to replace Hugh Winkles in the District 2 seat for the Santa Rosa County School Board in the primary election.
Pool, a former teacher at Pace High School, said that he decided to run because he and his wife, who also is a teacher in the Santa Rosa County school system, have five children in the schools right now and wanted a more active voice in the administrative side.
“I want to be more involved at a critical decision making level,” Pool said. “I’ve been in involved on student advisory committees for the last four years, and so I have seen some of the things they have done and not done.”
