Milton man runs for State Rep

Jayer Williamson of Milton plans to run for Florida's District 1 State Representative seat against incumbent Doug Broxson, R-Gulf Breeze.

Williamson, 33, prefiled as a Republican candidate Jan. 24. He is the vice president and CEO of his family's business, Williamson Electrical in Milton. The business was started by his father and Santa Rosa County Commissioner Jim Williamson in 1976.

Jayer said he decided to run for state representative because of his involvement in the community and his ability to work together for a common goal.
