Commission disagrees on pier biz plan

The Pier Bar and Grill

District 2 County Commissioner Bob Cole is not concerned that The Pier, Inc. has not submitted a business and operations plan a year and half into its contract with the county.

"As long as she's (Manager Dorothy Slye) turning in financials and doing due diligence to bring in profits," Cole said, "then I don't have a problem with her not having a business plan."

As it stands now, no business and operations plan has been submitted, nor is one required because the county commissioners have deemed an annual report sufficient to meet the contract's requirement.

County Attorney Angie Jones said that the annual report presented to the commissioners during a June 20, 2011 business meeting was deemed "satisfactorily" to cover Section XI.F in the contract that states, "an annual Business and Operations Plan to be submitted within 45 days of execution of the lease and on each subsequent annual anniversary of the effective date of the lease."
