Authorities are still searching for clues to find out what caused a fatal house fire last night In Navarre.
Just after midnight Thursday, a passerby reported what they thought was a brush fire just off of State Road 87. When firefighters from the Holley-Navarre Fire Department responded, they found a home engulfed in flames in a rural wooded area, just behind the Harbor at Holley Church.
Tommy Barron, an investigator from the State Fire Marshal's office, said that two people were found inside, and that they may have been sleeping at the time the fire started. Their identities have not yet been released.
Two homes nearby were not damaged in the blaze, which was said to have been burning for around an hour by the time the fire department got the call.
Barron said the investigation may take weeks to complete.
