USS Enterprise: Living the legacy

The flight deck of the USS Enterprise

Pride, honor, and precision teamwork makes the USS Enterprise (CVN-65) hum like a well-oiled machine. Well, that and 5,000 well-trained and efficient sailors and airmen.

The adventure began when two journalists were flown 100 miles off the coast of Florida on a C2A Greyhound to “the Big E“ to observe for 24 hours while the ship was in the midst of composite training exercises involving British and Norwegian allies. Liaison officers from both countries were aboard while their vessels and their own countrymen were aboard U.S. ships and submarines. One submarine, a Norwegian diesel-electric submarine HNOMS UTVAER (S303), was there to play a part in anti-submarine training while operating with the Enterprise Carrier Strike Group.
