The weather cooperated as Juana’s Good Times Regatta lived up to its name this weekend on Navarre Beach. More than 50 boats signed up for the event.
“Many of those entered, registered early,” Kevin Rudzki of Juana’s Pagodas said. “We knew a few weeks ago that we could count on a good turnout.”
This was the 20th year the event has been held on Santa Rosa Sound. “The weekend began with a pre-race ‘smooth sailing’ party on Friday evening,” said Mandy Evers, Juana’s event coordinator. “Saturday morning the skippers met for breakfast and the distance race got underway about 11 a.m. The buoy races were held on Sunday morning.”
“It was tough going last year,” Rick Shepard of Fort Walton Beach said. “It rained throughout most of the day and was very windy. This weekend was perfect weather.”
