A Gulf Breeze man has been arrested on charges of mutilating and killing his pet dog.
Matthew Oramonde Foote, 25, was charged with one count of animal cruelty, a first-degree felony.
According to a report issued by the Santa Rosa County Sheriff's Office, deputies were called to the family's home on Reservation Road Sunday night after Foote's father reported that the dog, a Dachsund Chihuahua mix, was found dead.
