The Santa Rosa Board of County Commissioners is inching toward a solid-waste collection service in the southern part of the county.
At the board's committees report meeting on Monday, Chairman Gordon Goodin said that he wanted to direct staff to develop an RFP for single-source garbage collection services.
"It may take six months to get response from the public on this," Goodin said, generally opening discussion. "Four companies have already contacted us. More service is the goal. Also, doing nothing is an option."
