Gulf Breeze man charged with DUI manslaughter

A Gulf Breeze man posted $61,000 bond after turning himself in Monday on charges of reckless driving, DUI manslaughter and DUI property damage.

Behrens.jpgOn Jan. 4, a warrant was issued for the arrest of Walter A. Behrens, 21, who turned himself in to Escambia County deputies later that day.

Behrens is charged with causing the death of Navarre resident Thomas R. Portolan, 60, during an alcohol-related wreck on Dec. 15.
