According to the EscaRosa Coalition on the Homeless, homelessness in Santa Rosa County is on the rise. “And, unless something is done,” said Brian Good, a Gulf Breeze resident who was himself formerly homeless. “The issue is only going to get worse.”
At a community meeting on Oct. 13 at Navarre’s Tourist Information Center, the group met with representatives from throughout Santa Rosa and Escambia Counties to help identify possible solutions to the problem that has been magnified due to what Brunie Emmanuel described as “an unprecedented economic crisis in this area.”
Emmanuel, who serves as the executive director for the coalition, led a discussion about one proposed option, a day resource center.
