The idea of incorporating the 50-some square miles of Navarre has not fallen by the wayside. Many local residents and supporters of the plan gathered Tuesday afternoon to express their desire to move forward with making Navarre a city.
“The details have yet to be discovered and that is the purpose of this meeting, to find out the pros and cons and ultimately ask citizens what services they would want and how much they would be worth,” said Tracey Terry, president/CEO of the Navarre Beach Area Chamber of Commerce.
One of the biggest benefits noted at the meeting was local control over Navarre’s resources and its future.
