I would like to take a moment to introduce myself and my business. My name is Steve and I have lived in Santa Rosa County for over 30 years. I own Islander Lightscaping Inc. where we design, install, and maintain outdoor lighting systems. I have residential (Hidden Creek) and commercial (Gulf Coast Community Bank) projects in your area.

Whether it's commercial or residential or you are a contractor or homeowner we can work with you. We use nationally recognized products, many of which have lifetime warranties (not the stuff you get from "box stores").

We will design, install, and maintain your system for you. FREE design consultations, FREE 2 year maintenance service warranty, and mention you saw us on the forum and we'll take 10% off the installation.

Please feel free to call or visit our site for more information.
Thank you,
Steve

If anyone has a question about low voltage lighting, I will do my best to answer it for you. Just post your question here, whether you have an existing lighting system or you are considering one in the near future. I find many of my clients know very little about low voltage lighting systems, so I like to educate them as much as possible. The more informed the customer is (homeowner or contractor) the better decisions they can make. This makes them much more confident in there purchase of a lighting system. This will also save a lot of headaches created by poorly designed systems and the use of inferior products.

Please post away!

Thanks,
Steve

Here's a few low voltage tips.

Low voltage lighting consumes about 1/3 the energy as traditional line voltage.

Low voltage lighting fixtures are smaller in nature than traditional fixtures making them easy to disappear in the landscape.

Low voltage has more than enough power to light the tallest of structures. Think of your car lights on bright, they're 12 volt.

Low voltage lighting doesn't have to be enclosed in conduit like traditional line voltage.

Low voltage lamps are available in hundreds of options making sure each fixture receives the proper lamp for its intended purpose.

Low voltage lighting requires a burial depth of 6" that can usually be trenched in with a hand trencher, leaving virtually no trace.

Thanks,
Steve

Docks, Piers, and Boat Houses are perfect fits for low voltage lighting. Professional lighting will increase the visual appearance of the structure while at the same time provide safe non-glaring light. Low voltage lighting does not require PVC conduit to be run the length of the pier the way traditional line voltage does, plus it is much safer. Lighting "done right" will allow you to enjoy your pier / boat house at your convenience. There are many piers / boat houses here on the gulf coast that are beautiful all day long only to disappear every night.

Call me for a free estimate on your pier or boat house.
