Surviving Step by Step: Peace and Harmony

With two weeks of school already finished, we have finally perfected (as much as possible) our new day. Our morning schedule always remains the same but the afternoon one can change daily. My son in high school (getting out late already) needs to be picked up at 5:20 ish. If my youngest doesn’t have soccer practice, I will pick him up or now his oldest brother can. He changed his work schedule to weekends only to do his school studies during the week. That helps me out a lot. I still like leftover day, it gives me abreak from rushing around getting dinner on the table. Though dinner taste better nice and fresh sometimes it is impossible to do. Our dinner times vary but we enjoy when we can all eat together. All my boys are doing well in school. They still are willing to talk about their day. My oldest at PJC, not so much. That is okay because he already knows what is expected of him and the consequences for slacking. Both my younger sons sports will finish around the same time and then will have that small break before spring activities begin. I like the late fall season to be dedicated to the holidays.

My hair is growing slowly and wish to one day to walk around outside without something on my head. I have once or twice done that but remembered and went inside to put a head covering on. I’m not quite ready to share that part of me yet. It is a process to overcome. I haven’t wore my wig for sometime, it has been too hot. My sideburn area sticks out from underneath and would have to trim them back. When I wear my bandanas, I sometimes put darkbrown eye shadow on my sideburns. This hides the grey hair somewhat until I can get my hair done. Yes, I have a lot more grey and am not ready for that total change. Even though all my energy is not back, I don’t feel my age and therefore don’t want to look older than I feel.

I saw a doctor about my bumps and he feels it is a reaction to my Herceptin. He also said, “If possible around the house let your skin air out and breathe”. Well he must forget I have young boys in the house. He also said I may need a pre-med before taking my Herceptin. Now I will go see my Oncologist’s nurse and they will look and decide the outcome. In the meantime, I was told not to put anything on them that would mask how they will look come Wednesday. I will keep you informed. Everything else is good. I have blood work in a week and a half and my doctor’s appointment the following week.

Enjoy your week and the slightly cooler weather. Fall is coming. Yeah!

My Faith will keep me strong and my Family will make me smile. Life is Good.
