I am wanting to promote a dog park in the Navarre area for: dogs to exercise & socialize safely, promote responsible dog ownership, provide an outlet for dog owners to socialize, make a better community by promoting public health and safety, well-exercised dogs are better neighbors!
I have posted petitions: wynn-haven vet office, navarre animal hospital, both pets supply stores and both pet grooming shops in Navarre.
we also have started a small group we call ourselves Responsible Dog Owners Group (R.D.O.G).
I also would like to hear from the person that talked about a dog park last year if still in the area and still interestd.
I am all for a dog park. As I have said in my first post, I am a vacationer who visits my family in Navarre quite often. We have a large dog and would love to be able to socialize with him outside of the confines of my parents home.
Please consider a dog park for the area! It would be a welcomed aminity.
Also, if we can get this first one, maybe the area would consider a dog park on the beach- at least on the intercoastal? ...remember Marley and Me? :o)
Good luck with this endevor.
we have been busy trying to collect names and are getting ready to set a meeting date for anyone interested in this project. we are thinking at navarre park on a sunday afternoon or evening. I will post the date and time at both pet stores, both pet groomers, navarre animal hospital, wynn haven vet and here at this forum.
who ever reads this and is interested in helping please feel free to do whatever you can and bring that to the meeting.
the meeting could have been more successful if people that signed the petitions showed up!
the only good news I have to report is there may be a piece of land already offered by Mr. Goodin that the group last year refused. so I wrote Mr. Goodin and asked about this and I am waiting for reply. I am also working with A 1 electric of milton on estimates for solar power water pump and lighting.
There will be another meeting at navarre park 5:30p on aug. 23 this will posted at all the petitions sites and in the navarre press.
